Red-tailed Black Cockatoo on plywood
$89.00
The Red-tailed Black Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus banskii) is found throughout much of Australia. The subspecies, C. b. naso is found in the southwest between Perth and Albany and is called Karrak by the Noongar people of the southwest. The mainstay of their diet is seeds from fruiting Marri, Jarrah and Karri trees, also seeds of acacia, casuarina, banksia, grevillea and hakea, as well as berries, fruits and various insects. They nest in large vertical hollows of tall, isolated trees that may be used for many years.
