A member of the proteaceae family, it is known as biara by the Nyoongar people of the south west of Western Australia. It is found across much of the region from Kalbarri in the Midwest to the Fitzgerald River on the south east coast.
Our tea towels are hand screen-printed with water-based inks onto 100% linen. The fabric size is 50 x 70cm and the printed area is approximately 41 x 55cm.
Hand-printed textiles are unique creations and as a result may have some minor imperfections. We recommend a hand wash the first time, then gentle machine wash after that. Some shrinkage will occur given the fabric has not been pre-shrunk, and try to avoid tumble-drying. Linen ages well but following the first couple of washes the fabric may be crinkly, so just pull it into shape a bit before hanging up to dry. Ironing while still slightly damp or using a steam iron on the back gives an excellent result.
Our tea towels can be framed in a standard IKEA frame. If you’d like to read more about this, please go to our Questions page and see ‘Product Information’ for details.
