Product information for our screen-printed fabrics and wood

Men’s t-shirts

T-shirts sold from our website are made with minimal environmental impact in all production stages, and under fair labour conditions.

All Earth Positive shirts are 100% certified organic cotton sourced from farms in areas where enough water occurs naturally through the monsoon rains to supply 95% of water, thereby eliminating the need for large-scale irrigation.

The Indian manufacturing facility is powered by a nearby wind farm that generates verifiable renewable power. Cotton waste is either returned to the field as an organic fertiliser or used for other textile and upholstery products manufactured in the local area. All dyes are made in a controlled environment where wastewater is thoroughly treated.

The manufacturer was certified and provided with the Carbon Trust Carbon Reduction Label in 2008. To read more, click here http://www.earthpositive.se/organic.html

Plywood

Our plywood products are hand-printed using water-based inks on 100% plantation-grown Australian hoop pine from plantations that are independently certified to the Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

Hanging tip: a piece of blue tack on the back at the bottom will help keep the panel hanging level. Printed on sustainable-source Australian plywood. To read more, click here http://www.hqplantations.com.au/araucaria.html

Table linen

Our range of table linen includes runners, placemats and tablecloths. These all are hand screen-printed with water-based inks onto 100% linen.

Hand-printed textiles are unique creations and as a result may have some minor imperfections. We recommend a hand wash the first time, then gentle machine wash after that. Some shrinkage will occur given the fabric has not been pre-shrunk, and try to avoid tumble-drying. Linen ages well but following the first couple of washes the fabric may be crinkly, so just pull it into shape a bit before hanging up to dry. Ironing while still slightly damp or using a steam iron on the back gives an excellent result.

Tea towels

Our tea towels are hand screen-printed with water-based inks onto 100% linen. The fabric size is 50 x 70cm and the printed area is approx 41 x 55cm.

Our tea towels can be framed in a standard IKEA frame (RIBBA is recommended). Simply follow IKEA’s framing instructions. We suggest placing a piece of double-sided tape at the top to stop the fabric sagging over time. Place the tape between the back of the cardboard surround and the face of the fabric – just make sure its out of sight.
